I now own and operate Panasonic's AG-HPX170. I've switched over to a tapeless format and now use Panasonic's P2 memory cards. The camera can shoot in either HD or DV; both formats can shoot 24p for a more cinematic look. In addition, the camera can shoot variable frame rates for slow motion and fast motion effects. A digital intervalometer makes timelaspe shots a breeze. I use a Sennheiser Shotgun Mic for optimum sound in the field and a Sennheiser Wireless Lav that is ideal for interviews. Since there are no moving parts inside the camera, one Sachtler FSB Battery powers my camera for an entire day. The light weight carbon fiber Sachtler FSB-6 Tripod System allows for smooth pan and tilts. And I am completely mobile with this entire camera package on my back with my Kata Backpack.
